IPCop is a linux distribution set up for use as a firewall and gateway to the internet. You can use an old computer (even a 386) to connect your home or office LAN to the internet using modem, cable, pppoe, pptp and other connection methods. The IPCop home page is
http://www.ipcop.org. We will have IPCop installs available at any Installfests
. Version 1.4 is the latest available.
I have also written a page on getting the Dick Smith PCI ADSL modem (part number XH1137) going on IPCop XH1137onIPCop
